Art Discovery Day – Painting – Sunday June 4th – 11am-4pm

Who Is This Course For:

• Anyone who wants the opportunity to be creative in a welcoming and friendly environment.
• Anyone who may feel creatively blocked, but would like to try (or return to) painting.
• Anyone who would like guidance in creating their own painting in one day

Let’s Make Art Together:

• Come paint in my studio, located at Artspace in downtown Raleigh, NC
• Paint with acrylics and mixed media
• Small groups of 2 to 4 adults
• Art materials and light refreshments provided

During the workshop we will work together to create an abstract painting. I will guide you step by step so that you can created a finished piece of art that you will be proud to take home. For folks traveling from out of town, un-stretched canvas will be available so your piece can be safely transported in a mailing tube.

Optional:

• The class tuition includes your choice of unstretched or stretched canvas (18×18 or similar size). If you would like to bring your own canvas, 30×30 or smaller is perfect.
• You will have access to a wide selection of acrylic paint and brushes, but you may also bring additional supplies, especially if there are specific colors, tools, or brushes you love.
• Bring a reference photo or two and we’ll discuss how to translate it abstractly.

Duration of Workshop
11am to 4pm, with a short 30min break in the middle.
